Once the newborn claims the first breath, he begins his/her journey of remembering. The first breaths are a circle, the most natural flow of breath in/breath out. A miraculous creation, the body charges with the breath and discharges with the breath. The child breathes with the whole body, as if the pranic energy entered every pore to immerse the cells in all that was necessary to live forever. Not only is there the oxygen/carbon-dioxide process, but also the process of the cleansing of the impact energies, those spawns of the moments of living. This perfect child being, as we all were and still truly are, rode the natural processes into life only to be interrupted by the staccato bursts of familial and cultural patterns and beliefs. These interruptions slowly taught the child to unlearn the circle breath. What took its place was the storing of unprocessed energetic toxins and compromised breathing that eventually transferred from full body to upper chest, from slow and “life-force saturated”, to quick intakes designed to initiate action...and reduce feeling...make numb.

As adults we are casualties of an ignorant civilization that values progress over wisdom. Our perfect design is in shambles, stumbling along in a bloated replica of the Divine blueprint. Well, it is not too late to awaken the truth of our being to begin again, reborn to the ancient wisdom ways that align us with our design. This awakening starts with the breath. We all remember how to breathe, but the routine of decades of shallow breathing has made us lazy, forgetful, and frankly, unaware. Until now. Conscious breathing is the vehicle upon which we shall ride to waking up in the fields of gold.

To breathe as we are designed will undo so much of the damage of the past. It is remarkable how quickly the body remembers how it goes. Once it realigns, then the cleansings rapid -fire their way to reveal the I AM Presence reflecting as you. The patterns that we have succumbed to will not survive the massive influx of pranic spirit. Though it may take some time to move beyond their pattern and influence.

Look at the design of the lung at left. The greatest volume is in the bottom. Look around, watch others breathe. Notice the shallow breathing that permeates civilization. Gulp the air in big bites to get the energy to do what must be done. Action...movement...progress... gulp...gulp...gulp... If, possible, visit a newborn and watch that precious being breathe. Re-experience the Creator’s workmanship in flow.

We start the journey by putting your hand on the belly, just above the navel. Pull air in through the nose and into the belly, letting the belly extend outward as the lower lung fills with precious prana filled air. (Break the spell of cultural bias about the size and shape of the abdomen. Six-pack abs are essentially the armoring of the very area of our body that must be pliable and flexible...free the abs!!!) Continue to pull in air and allow the middle chest to expand in a circle. Finally bring the air into the upper lung just below the throat, pulling back the shoulders to open up the lung to capacity. Allow the air, now filled with CO2 and toxins,  to slowly and gently fall out in complete exhalation. Repeat this process four to five times. This complete breath may already be causing noticeable changes in your physical and energetic fields. Observe with great interest.

Breathing is a magical elixir for pain and emotion and confusion. It relaxes and enervates. It heals. Because, in one medical model, the repressed and suppressed natural emotional expression is the precursor to physical dis-ease and condition.

According to one source, breathing detoxifies and releases 70% of body’s toxins, releases tension, relaxes the mind/body and brings clarity, relieves emotional challenges, massages your organs, increases muscle, strengthens the immune system, improves posture, increases digestion and assimilation of food, improves the nervous system, strengthens the lungs, makes the heart stronger, assists in weight control, boosts energy levels and improves stamina, improves cellular regeneration, and elevates moods.

Breath as a healing tool for the Sound Alchemist is foundational for the client, as well as the practitioner. Thus it follows that knowing a variety of breathing practices would be essential tools in the alchemist’s medicine bag. The best way to learn them is to practice them. Then you can experience their effect, experience their variety, and know when to use them.

So let’s learn a variety of breathing techniques that will assist you and anyone you are supporting.

Breath is life. Breath gives us life. We sustain life through the breath. The first thing we do when we enter this dimension is to breathe. The breath is the bridge between worlds, between dimensions. It holds the frequency of the spiritual life before incarnation to allow us to catch glimpses of it until we fully remember and reclaim it. The nourishing spiritual life force found in the air we breathe is termed prana. The prana contains the spiritus , the blueprint of the Divine that unifies with the physical to birth the multi-dimensional being breath after breath.

Breath is foundation to the voice...it precedes expression and seeds manifestation through the word. The prana is infused into the voice to command the Universe to apply the immutable laws  to gift us our intentions.

So called normal breathing is 16-18 breaths per minute. Ideal normal breathing is more like 11-13 breaths pm. The faster you breathe the less you feel. Until at 26 bpm you lose the capacity to feel pain. Your blood heats up and your ego shuts down, to the point that all feelings and body sensations disappear. Great feats of strength with immunity to being hurt occur in this state.

Conversely, the slower you breathe the more you feel, and the greater the interaction between you and the universe. At 10 bpm, for at least a 5 min interval, your mind becomes clear and ready for work. The slow steady rhythm  automatically cancels out conflicting thoughts and inharmonious vibrations around you. And the effects last for hours.

At three even breaths per minute, the vibratory level of your body becomes so subdued and harmonized that all your delicate psychic perceptions like intuitions, premonitions, and inspirations come through.

Increasing your inhalation time and capacity increases your intake of prana. Extending the time you hold your inhalation in allows this vital energy to be completely separated from the air and stored in the solar plexus. Lengthening your exhalation time enables you to make more room for prana by releasing toxins and impurities in your body and lets you direct prana to your storage tanks ...
