- It’s most prevalent in the movies, the music, and television…this notion of relationship and how we are looking for the one to make us whole and complete, take all of our worries away, and soothe us through any challenge. It’s been called the Soul Mate…where are you? And so we dance, putting everyone we are attracted to against the same template…deciding quickly whether he or she is worth pursuing. Even in the middle of being in a primary relationship, eyes wander and keep looking for the One. All the while the jukebox blares, “I can’t live, if living is without you”.
- For many life is about the pursuit of the One. They are always looking and comparing and judging and starting and stopping and wishing and hopin and cryin and dreamin and waitin’ and …we work out to look better for them. We starve ourselves or spend fortunes on products that will cover the blemishes and hide the real me. We take classes to get better at picking someone up in a bar. We alter our selves with unnecessary surgeries in an effort to force our attractiveness out into the world so the One will recognize us. We are suckers for the ever changing fashion industries that dispenses the norm with frightening regularity…leaving us as pinballs to the industry that is ever more costly when all the while the designer clothing is being created in third world sweat shops for pennies and pain.
- And then we fine what we believe the one is…and we jump into making the form fit the situation. Good luck…and all the while our disappointment and loneliness drives us to undermine our efforts…what is wrong with me…everyone else is so happy. And suppose you find the One…and it looks like happily forever after until the day that he walks out the door and she gets killed by a runaway truck. Then what…back to the doldrums…and all the while the little girl inside calls for attention, for love, for companionship.
- He is the One. She is the Soul Mate, living inside you all the time…incarnation after incarnation. In the new paradigm we give birth to the One inside. Healing the relationship between the Adult/Parent and the Inner Child is where dreams are made and we finally experience the expansion of unconditional love.
- When the two reunite, the emptiness is filled for I am the only one who can pay enough attention to my little boy to meet his needs, heal his wounds, build his trust, nurture his heart and bones. The more we connect and the more I show up as the adult, the more he trusts me. The more he trusts me the more willing she is to let care take place. The more care that is allowed the clearer the energy becomes, the less impactful the wounds, the more clarity about the world and relationships grow. When we are reunited, we can walk into any situation without unrealistic and overwhelming needy demands and expectations. We take care of our Whole Self first. This build the reservoir of power and balance and perpetual expanding love. From this place we can show up for someone, not need them to take care of us, be fully present, and enjoy the high frequency experience of love without borders. The other can do their thing, which may be an end to this dance. If this happens we are able to feel fully, grieve healthily, let go and move on to that which is coming next…always nurturing our own self to stay in a very empowering sense of value, worthiness, and esteem.
- Tend your inner garden and learn to love you with unending, unconditional acceptance, love and celebration. This is where life grows up for us, where we touch the hem of the garment of beauty and peace, where we discover the true multidimensionality of the Cosmos. Choose it…you already know what happens when you don’t.
