Simply put, the vowels contain the emotion of the language while the consonants are the fence posts that contain the energy and direct it towards specific meaning. The sacredness of sound lies primarily in the vowels as they contain the substance that carries the meaning.
Working with the vowel sounds can be very profound as they align with chakras and are instrumental in cleansing, releasing, empowering and inspiring. Most of the vowel sounds are infusing the languages of all peoples. Some alterations in placement bring familiarity to some and are virtually unpronounceable to others, until practiced, for we all have the same mechanism to reproduce the sounds with.
The consonants cut and dice and direct. They can create spaces and separate elements so the vowels can do their work and dance. Each has particular placement, again confounding to some cultures as they simply are not used. Learning them will open up the palette of sacred sound to employ the entire design and mechanisms.
Here are some suggestions to work with vowels. The vowels to work with are ah, ay, ee, oh, oo. Also consider the tones for the chakras: uh, oo, oh, ah, eh, ee, mm as specific sounds to play with
Sound them long at an intuited pitch
Pulse them in a staccato fashion to feel their placement
Use the sequence of ay to ah to aw as a vehicle to get the sustained voice from the front of the facial mask to the depths of the body. Moving back opens the throat and opens the doorway to your power
Sequence ah, ay, ee, oh, oo over and over and experience the higher vibration of hat is considered the sequence of manifestation
