We have learned to be complacent, to resist change, to pass up clear opportunities for awareness and growth. To take the easy way, to be less adventurous. Many have built a safe haven, a comfort zone that is predictable and known. And, at first blush, in a world of incessant change and chaos, it appears that a comfort zone is of primary importance…or so it seems.
In truth, a comfort zone is a self imposed barrier to life, keeping the expressions of an unresolved past out and severely restricting our unfettered opportunities to live fully. Too often the zone is built upon woundings, unprocessed pain, and decisions/beliefs set in place as a result. It is a prison in the past, essentially. The “safety” lulls us and diminishes our desire to learn and re-educate and take risks. We become the leaf in the eddy in the stream.
The challenge is that life is moving. Unseen forces are flooding our fields and pushing us to remember who we are by design. The more we ignore the flow and build a stronger fortress, the more likely an unexpected flood will come and lift us out of our fabricated life of ease. Resistance is ultimately what causes pain.
The invitation of these unprecedented times is to leave the comfort zone, begin to trust life, and open arms, mind and heart to something way more magnificent than we have allowed. At the very least, construct a revolving door that lets life in and create a release valve for all that has contributed to the desire to protect. You do not have to tear down the comfort zone, we all need time to be alone and recharge, but maybe reduce the scope. By simply doing this you will most likely see that there really is no need for it at all. Life is lived in moments, full of infinite potential. With your Higher Self in oversee mode, there really is nothing to worry about.
Live now, live free…
